Remembering What’s Still Whole
-Earth Rebel-
Greens and browns like wild ground —
alive with movement, feather, thread,
and the grit of becoming.
Earth Rebel belongs to the ones
who walk their own path, who love the land,
who refuse to be tamed by expectation.
This companion roots without restricting and steadies
without stealing your wild.
Earth Rebel’s Blessing:
May you stand where your soul feels true.
May the earth hold your feet and your fire in equal measure.
May your wildness be welcomed, and your path be wholly your own.
November Greetings!
As the winter holidays approach, I’ve been feeling the strong current of belonging and the ache that sometimes rises around it. Old stories of not feeling securely attached, questions about how to gather now, or how to celebrate in ways that feel true — all of that can surface this time of year. There can be both a spark of excitement and, just beneath it, a heaviness. For many of us, this season holds joy and sorrow side by side.
Over the past several years, what has supported me most in those moments hasn’t been tied to the present day at all. It’s been the experience of finding divine and sacred connection with the ancients, the vibrant, wise ones who lived long before me, the ancestors whose songs live in the bones of the Earth.
While much of my healing journey has been about tending ancestral wounds, an even deeper transformation has come from seeking out my vibrant ancestors who lived in harmony, who celebrated, who thrived. Remembering that vitality has reminded me that my lineage carries more than pain; it carries gifts, resilience, and wonder.
Our modern world often teaches us to look first at what’s broken, to rush to repair. And yes, we are witnessing and feeling ancestral traumas that shaped the collective. We're face to face with systems of oppression, fear, and disconnection that echo through time. This confrontation with trauma can leave us frozen, overwhelmed, or reactive. Embodying my true, healthy role here and now has required something different of me: to reach back into the places and times when nothing was broken.
This isn’t about denial or spiritual bypass. It takes tremendous courage to look beyond pain and see the full arc of our inheritance, to see and accept the sacred, the joyful, the alive.
Connecting with the vibrancy and gifts of my ancestral lines has been one of the deepest medicines for my own wounds around belonging and voice. And the truth is, the healing never ends. There’s no finish line, just layers of awareness, moments of tenderness, and the daily practice of remembering. Each glimpse of the vibrant ancients reminds me that their light still pulses through the present moment.
Can you imagine what might happen if all of us reconnected with those bright threads of memory, the lived experiences that predate our ancestral pain? What if our bodies, minds, and nervous systems could drink from that reservoir of vitality again? What new possibilities might unfold if we gave ourselves permission to remember the ancient joy within us?
I’d love to hear what this stirs in you. What does belonging mean for you now? Where are you feeling the call of your own vibrant ones?
Much love to you and your spirit,
Sara
